Service at Taoist Ching Chung Primary School, Tuen Mun
On 9th March 2018, our teammates and I went to Taoist Ching Chung Primary School which located in Tuen Mun to participate service volunteering. We arrived the school around 10am, and it was the recess time in that time. Students were required to go to the playground for resting, playing games and eating snacks. We acted as volunteers to remind students “don’t sit on the ground and don’t run” in order to avoid injury.
After 30 minutes’ break time, students had to line up according their classes and waiting to return their own classroom. We were assigned to library for helping design new certificate for reading book rewards and data checking about borrow and return book records.
Lastly, we assisted students to take care
of them while having lunch. Keeping environments clean and make sure they had
eaten all the food prevent food wasting. Some students may have picky eating
and left some food. Therefore, we reminded them they should eat all the food
and couldn’t waste any food. We also interacted and talked with them when they
finished they lunch.
I really appreciate the vice-principal that
he introduced lots of school policies very detail, to let us understand how the
school operation and felt free to ask him questions. This is a great
opportunity for us to know how the functioning of the school and act like a
teacher. It can beneficial our career goal to become a teacher during
internship or after graduated.
